The Home Supervisor supervises the direct care professionals (DCPs) and ensures the home operates in compliance with all active treatment plans, SMRTS policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES The home supervisor supervises all direct care professionals (DCPs).
In this capacity, the home supervisor is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing at all times in conformity with the position control list.
They will also collaborate with the Residential Services Manager and participate in hiring new DCPs, performing corrective action up to and including terminating employment as needed, scheduling DCPs to fill all openings, and scheduling home chores and cleaning.
The home supervisor inventories all home supplies, personal supplies, and food on a regular basis, completes purchase requests for needed items prior to running out of the item, and ensures all supplies are purchased, labeled, inventoried, and stored appropriately.
The home supervisor ensures adequate staff coverage for all trips and medical appointments and attends such appointments and trips as needed or requested.
The home supervisor also schedules all trips and communicates the scheduled trips and any needs or concerns with the appropriate department.
The home supervisor performs regular and routine quality assurance activities for each home and submits findings to the Residential Services Manager.
The home supervisor assesses the strengths and needs of each DCP and provides regular performance feedback.
The home supervisor also ensures each DCP receives sufficient training to address their needs, and addresses continued under performance.
Stays informed of all client and personnel issues and communicates with the Residential Services Manager, the appropriate QIDP, the appropriate nurse, and administration as needed.
The home supervisor participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, staff meetings, and other meetings and committees as requested.
Functions as a DCP in the event of absences or lack of coverage The home supervisor works a flexible schedule to provide maximum supervision for all shifts on all homes.
The home supervisor is responsible for maintaining and dispersing all petty cash and reconciling petty cash with the accounting department at least monthly.
The home supervisor responds to emergencies, disasters, and facility evacuations by providing assistance, supervision, and leadership to residents and staff at St.
Mary's and at the evacuation sites REQUIREMENTS Language:
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Must be able to speak to small groups.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be able to do simple addition and subtraction, as well as multiplication and division.
Must be able to understand charts and graphs.
Education:
A high school diploma is required.
Bachelors degree is preferred.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have at least two years of verifiable supervisory experience in which they supervised at least 15 employees or supervised employees across various shifts, and was responsible for scheduling and covering call-ins or personal time off.
Must have good technical / computer skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have a valid Louisiana driver's license.
The home supervisor will be required to obtain CMA certification.
Job Type:

$30,000.
